Abstract

The total Mie scattering coefficient K for n~1.0 has been computed for the normalized size parameters ρ=0(0.2)15(0.5)17 and for the first ten maxima and minima up to ρ=64. Furthermore, a formula for the position of the extrema is derived and the results of the computations are listed. For large ρ the total Mie scattering coefficient can be represented by a simple sine function with steadily decreasing amplitude.
