Abstract

The design of a Raman spectroscopy cell capable of maintaining aqueous solutions at temperatures up to 500°C and pressures up to 34.5 MPa (5000 psi) is described. The apparatus is illustrated with the chemical interactions that take place in aqueous Ca(NO<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub> and Zn(NO<sub>3</sub>)<sub>2</sub> under these conditions.
