Abstract

A semi-empirical procedure for determining spectral positions to an accuracy of ±0.005 cm−1 in the near infrared region is discussed. The infrared spectra have been scanned by rotating the grating with the help of a precision screw. It is believed that the techniques discussed enable the measurement, with the above precision, of many infrared lines in one day.
