Rapid Detection of Histophilus somni by a Nanomaterial Optical Fiber Biosensor Assay

Abstract

We demonstrate a method for rapid (<1 hour) identification of as few as 100 cells of bacteria such as H. somni using a long-period grating with a surface layer of ionic self-assembled multilayers and DNA probe.
