Fiber-optic ultrasonic transducer achieved at the sidewall of optic fiber using coreless fiber

Abstract

This paper presents a simple ultrasound transducer using cladding mode in the sidewall of optic fiber by splicing one section coreless fiber with single mode fibers. The simulation and experiment of this transducer is discussed.
