Abstract

Time-resolved fluorescence measurements of nucleic acids at room temperature provide information on their structure and dynamics and on the mechanisms of action of UV radiation on cells, for the excited states are involved in the generation of stable photoproducts. Making these measurements is, however, a challenging task1 because it requires tunable UV picosecond light pulses and an ultrafast detector.
