Abstract
Semiconductor-doped glasses have been shown to exhibit large optical nonlinearities when excited close to the fundamental absorption edge, and they are promising materials for applications in fast all-optical switching devices.1-4 A polarization-rotation switch, that has a response time of 4 ps and uses those glasses has recently been described.5
