Abstract
Ballistic transport in semiconductors has been of considerable interest recently [ref]. Ballistic drift of hot electrons and holes across short channels of heterojunctions has been studied extensively by using injector-spectrometer techniques [1]. We have performed time-resolved measurements in an attempt to study ballistic effects in electron transport. By using femtosecond spectroscopy, we have observed the quasi-ballistic acceleration of electrons in the planes of a multiple quantum-well structure.
