Abstract

The saturation of photoinduced χ(2) gratings in optical fibers can be studied by a controlled modulation of the relative phase (ΔΦ) between the fundamental and second-harmonic (SH) writing beams,1 We present measurements of the SH intensity after changes of π in the relative phase of the seeding beams. We can relate features in the measured SH intensity to different kinds of saturation.
