Abstract
Continuously tuning laser diodes are commonly made by longitudinally integrating an amplifying section with a phase shifter and a Bragg reflector, enabling continuous tuning up to 4,4 nm /1/. Thereby the control currents into the phase shifter and Bragg reflector must mutually be adjusted to avoid mode jumping. Since this adjustment reveals rather laborious in practice, a self-synchronization between Bragg wavelength and phase shift would be highly desirable.
