Kinetics of virtual populations in the dynamic Stark effect of excitons

Abstract

Intense laser fields and ultrashort pulses enable new types of optical experiments to be carried out where the semiconductor can be pushed far off equilibrium. For a consistent theoretical description the nonequilibrium Green's function theory serves as a flexible tool.
