Spider silk self-assembly for micro-fiber formation using optical tweezers and microfluidics

Abstract

Spider silk is a protein-based composition containing a flexible amorphous and a stiff crystalline phase. We present the use of microfluidics coupled with optical tweezers to study the required conditions for micro-fibers formation.
