Angular momenta and negative azimuthal forces induced on a particle via guided light in ultrathin optical fibers

Abstract

We calculate forces and torques acting on a Mie particle in the evanescent field of a microfiber. Theoretical and experimental observations indicate that quasicircularly polarized light guided in the fiber can exert a negative azimuthal force on particles.
