Introduction of Chemical Mechanical Planarization for Semiconductor Device Manufacturing

Abstract

This presentation introduces Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP) and several novel techniques to control material removal during polishing. These real-time in situ control techniques may be of interest to the optics community. CMP originated from optics polishing.
