Colorless, Partially Directional, and Contentionless Architecture for High-Degree ROADMs

Abstract

We design a new Colorless, partially Directional, and Contentionless (CpDC) architecture for high-degree ROADMs, in which a fixed interconnection pattern is developed to connect different nodal degrees and add/drop modules. Simulation results show the advantages of the proposed architecture to significantly reduce the cost, insertion loss, and volume.
