Abstract

We review the concept of probabilistic constellation shaping (PCS) and of its applicability for high-capacity autonomous networks. We experimentally demonstrate that the Gaussian model can be used to enable fast estimation of feasibility of PCS signals at different spectral efficiencies and baudrates
