Automotive LIDAR is one of the primary sensors for fully autonomous vehicles, and the performance requirements of these sensors places challenges on the optical technologies used in the device. We analyze the requirements for automotive LIDAR and then suggest a novel taxonomy of classifying different beamsteering methods.
