Optical Self-Heterodyne Generation of Dual–Band Linear Frequency Modulated Microwave Pulses

Abstract

Photonic generation of dual-band chirped microwave pulses by self-heterodyne beat is presented. Six combinations of S, C, X and Ku bands were synthesized with 2,000-6,000 time-bandwidth products. Linear frequency modulation was verified for all bands.
