Probabilistically Shaped 256-QAM-OFDM Transmission in Underwater Wireless Optical Communication System

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrated PS-256-QAM-OFDM for 35m underwater-wireless- optical-communication (UWOC) system. Compared with bit-power loading scheme, 27.8% capacity improvement is achieved. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time to employ PS-QAM in UWOC.
