Maximizing Optical Network Capacity through SNR-availability based Provisioning

Abstract

We present a new SNR-availability based provisioning scheme to maximize capacity while satisfying target service availability in optical networks employing fine tunable modulations such as probabilistically shaped mQAM, and show up to 36% capacity gain.
