Suppression of Nonlinear Crosstalk in a Polarization Insensitive FOPA by Mid-stage Idler Removal

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a modification to the looped architecture of polarization-insensitive fiber optical parametric amplifier which shows a nonlinear crosstalk reduction by over 4.5dB with negligible penalty on amplifier performance.
