A novel ring-core fiber supporting MIMO-free 50km transmission over high-order OAM modes

Abstract

We design and fabricate a novel ring-core fiber with modulated refractive index profile to suppress the micro-bending induced modal coupling. Two OAM mode-group transmission over 50-km fiber without using MIMO equalization is also experimentally demonstrated.
