Optical Networks Throughput Enhancement via TCP Stop-and-Wait on Hybrid Switches

Abstract

We report on possible 50% throughput increase in Optical Packet Switching (OPS) data-center networks by replacing all-optical switches with optical switches with shared electronic buffers further enhanced with TCP Stop-and-Wait algorithms.
