Abstract

In order to mitigate the transients occurring in the coherent receivers facing an absence of burst, a novel channel estimator, using a sliding window, is proposed here for optical DP-16QAM-OFDM burst traffic. Our experimental results show a significant performance gain of this new estimator resulting in an error threshold cancellation.
