Abstract

A novel solid type low-latency single-mode fiber (SMF) is proposed. Proposed small core dual-cladding structure successfully achieves a 0.3% latency reduction from a silica-core fiber while maintaining a 121.4 μm2 effective-area and 0.194 dB/km loss.
