Hysteresis-based Margin Allocation for Adaptive Coding in SDN-enabled Optical Networks

Abstract

Hysteresis-based margin-allocation for adaptive coding is experimentally investigated against PDL-induced OSNR fluctuations in a SDN-enabled multi-domain optical network. Up to 90% network outage reduction can be observed under different margins.
