Wide Range Carrier Frequency Offset Estimation Method using Training Symbols with Asymmetric Constellations for Burst-Mode Coherent Reception

Abstract

We propose a simple feed-forward carrier frequency offset estimation method robust against timing errors in the detection of training symbols. A wide compensation range of ±0.5 times the signal baud-rate is numerically and experimentally confirmed.
