Abstract

For many years, there has been considerable work on active optical waveguide devices because they offer a large-frequency-bandwidth-to-drive- voltage ratio. Devices with high bandwidth have been studied extensively for use in signal processing and telecommunications which both require high-speed modulation.1 On the other hand, it is Interesting to take advantage of the possibility of low-drive-voltage devices.
