Abstract

Analog modulation of LEDs represents the most cost-effective and bandwidth conservative system for the transmission of video information.1,2 For the first time we have characterized LED linearity performance with aging. In direct analog intensity modulated video systems, high output power and optical source linearity must be maintained over the operating life of the system to maintain a high-quality low-distortion signal path.
