Abstract

Over the last ten years, numerous innovations in the field of fiber-optic technology have resulted in the introduction of trunk transmission systems. In the near future, the prices of optical fibers are expected to decrease considerably. Consequently, many organizations are now studying the feasibility of fiber-optic subscriber loops that can provide various broadband information services because of fiber-optic well-known features.
