Abstract

The computer local networking applications covered in this paper are those oriented to a system-user interface–the local area network; those oriented toward the interaction of the mainframe processor with its storage and input-output support systems–the input-output channel; and those relating to enhancing the effective processing power of a system–the shared memory network.
