Abstract
In the vapor-phase axial deposition (VAD) method, the dehydration technique with an agent of CI2 is one of the efficient techniques in fabricating high-quality optical fibers such as the ultimate low OH content fibers.1 However, there is not enough detailed investigation of the dehydration reaction of soot preforms. There are two reasons: the densification itself Is very complicated, and It has a complex effect on the dehydration reaction.
