Abstract

We present the first observations of efficient single-pass Raman generation in low-loss optical fibers with a Sb-doped GeO2 core. The critical peak power for 93-μm core diameter 28-m long GeO2 fiber was measured at 9 kW, nine times smaller than for SiO2 fiber.
