Abstract
The multiple light splitting device is one of the most Important devices in fiber optics. Several types of splitting device have been proposed and their feasibility experimentally demonstrated.1’2 This paper will show that four-way light splitting devices depend on the principle of the refraction of the collimated beam at the surface of a tetrahedral-faced graded-index lens.
