Scattered light contrast microscopy: turning diffusely scattered light into contrast for imaging

Abstract

A reflectance mode scanning microscope is demonstrated that measures the scattered light distribution for each pixel in the microscope image. Data is analyzed to provide quantitative endogenous contrast of cells within thick tissue including retina.
