Noninvasive In Vivo Quantitative Emission Spectroscopy of Optically Thin or Dilute Two-Phase Samples: Bacterial Cultures

Abstract

We demonstrate measuring bacterial density and the chemical state of bacterial culture medium without physical sampling allowing continuous monitoring while avoiding potential contamination. This cannot be accomplished using OD 600 measurements.
