Abstract
We show numerical results about spatiotemporal extreme events in a broad-area semiconductor laser with saturable absorber. In particular, we study the statistics of 3D(x, y, t) intensity maxima, we identify extreme events and explore their existence regions in parameter space. Finally, we compare their spatial and temporal profiles with those of cavity solitons, both stationary and self-pulsing.
