Optically induced pure frequency modulation based on a mid-infrared quantum cascade laser

Abstract

Purified frequency modulation is demonstrated in a middle-infrared quantum cascade laser by illuminating its front facet with two optimized near infrared lasers. It is beneficial in improving signal fidelity for free space optical communication.
