Wave propagation analysis of Laguerre–Gaussian beam through Pseudo Random Phase Plate(PRPP)

Abstract

Laguerre–Gaussian (LG) beams are generated using vortex phase plate and analysed the propagation of this Laguerre-Gaussian beam through a pseudo-random phase plate. One of the quantities of physical interest such as the twist parameter is estimated from the variance matrix generated from Shack–Hartmann wave front sensor data. Fluctuations of twist at various distances are also estimated. The estimated quantities are then used to compare the distorted Laguerre-Gaussian beam with its undistorted counterpart.
