Hong-Ou-Mandel Effect Between Single-Photon Source and Thermal Light

Abstract

We describe the theory of Hong-Ou-Mandel (HOM) interference, between a single photon source and thermal light and demonstrate the maximum visibility attainable for non-ideal single photon resources.
