Parametric X-Ray Amplification in Plasmas

Abstract

Parametric amplification using stimulated Raman or Brillouin scattering in plasma may generate extraordinarily intense x-ray pulses. Particle-in-cell simulations suggest that ion-based Brillouin amplification provides efficient x-ray amplification.
