Hybrid Photonic-Plasmonic Directional Coupler Enabled Optical Transceiver

Abstract

We proposed a novel device structure termed Mo-detector for on-chip signal modulation and detection. With 180um2 footprint, 37.4 fJ/bit energy efficiency and 167 GHz operating speed, Mo-detector has a great potential in inter-chip communication.
