Overcoming optical spring effect with thermo-opto-mechanical coupling in GaAs microdisks

Abstract

We demonstrate a composite coupling between optical fields, acoustic modes and thermal expansion in gallium arsenide microdisks. A relationship between optical detuning and mechanical frequency diverse from traditional optomechanical theory is also observed.
