The use of Digital Holographic Interferometry (DHI) is becoming more and more attractive to detect in real time normal and abnormal changes in the surface of different kind of specimens. The surface displacements characterization of samples is based on distinctive unwrapped phase maps that can be measured accurately and non-invasively giving further support to apply DHI without destructive the specimens. The displacement phase maps can be utilized to investigate mechanical properties, unusual alterations, among others in the specimens.
