Broadband Electric-Field-Induced Second Harmonic Generation in a Silicon Waveguide

Abstract

We demonstrate group-velocity-matched electric-field-induced second harmonic generation in silicon ridge waveguides with a broad conversion bandwidth of 80 nm for a 2.48 µm pump wavelength and a maximum efficiency of 112 ±13%W1 using 200 fs pump pulses.
