Integrated Photonics for Trace Gas Sensors

Abstract

Environmental gas sensing requires sensitivity levels below 0.1 ppm. We show theoretically that a photonic integrated circuit based ammonia sensor can achieve such values, using parameters based on mature foundry platform, showing the technological feasibility.
