Sub-voltage Graphene-Plasmon Based Electro-absorption Modulator

Abstract

We experimentally show a sub-volt graphene-based hybrid plasmonic waveguide-integrated electro-absorption modulator showing an extinction ratio (0.25 dB/µm) compact footprint (5 µm2) enabled by improved both electrostatics and mode overlap factor.
