Coherent ultra-broadband wave-breaking radiation in a laser plasma accelerator

Abstract

Electron self-injection in a laser plasma accelerator generates an ultra-broadband coherent radiation flash. We show that the flash spectrum reveals information on the plasma density and the electron injection process.
