Relativistic Single-Cycle Tunable Infrared Pulses Generated from a Tailored Plasma Density Structure

Abstract

A new scheme capable of generating tunable relativistically intense, single-cycle pulses in the spectral range of 5-14 µm with a 1.7% conversion efficiency through asymmetric self-phase modulation in a tailored plasma density structure is proposed.
