Quantum metrology for high-accuracy measurement of refractive index difference in original optical fibers

Abstract

We report on a quantum-based measurement of index difference in original fibers. With an interferometric setup and a peculiar optical fiber structure, we demonstrate index difference measurements with a precision reaching the 10−5 10−6 level.
